Potato Rosti

Last year I got so used to having an indulgent Saturday night dinner, completely off plan and not tracked. I started to think back to when I first started weight watchers and I remember how much fun it was coming up with ways of having an indulgent dinner without breaking the bank of points so to say. I'm not willing to give up these nights in, but I have to be willing to make some adjustments to fit the plan. I feel like sides are the biggest down fall. Having something different on the side, can make even a plain piece of protein interesting so this is where my focus is. Potato Rosti is a favourite of mine, and my boyfriend used the make these for himself, fried in loads of butter. So I decided to make my own roast kind which are much lower in smart points.

Weekly Meal Plan

Heading into my third week on Smart Points and still loving it. I lost another 2lbs this week which brings my total loss for 2016 to 5.5lbs. I found a great class I can attend on a Tuesday at lunch time, there is a lot of interaction from the class and the leader is really enthusiastic. I forgot how much I missed the classes until I went back last week. I'm looking forward to my second class tomorrow.

Smartpoints Meal Plan!!

I am very determined this week and really organised. I sat down on Saturday morning and wrote out my full meal plan for the week before writing my shopping list. I'd also bought this months weight watchers magazine and turned to that for some inspiration. I still can't get over how much I am eating and how good I feel. Between than and losing 3.5lbs on my first week, there is more than enough encouragement enough to keep it up.

Smart Points is Here!!

Over here in Ireland there was a huge amount of build up to the introduction of Smart Points. In a way I'm really glad they waited until January to introduce it. The few weeks before Christmas to me is not a good time to make such a big change. You need time to invest in learning everything and I know the few weeks before Christmas are always crazy for me. In saying that, with social media, it was hard not to see the post everywhere about Smart Points. And to be hone st there was a lot of negativity towards the program out there and when you don't know much about what you are reading, those are the posts that stand out.

Resolutions?

I don't know how I feel about resolutions, how often do we actually stick to them for the year. Usually we start out all gung ho and by the end of January things have fallen to the wayside. Now don't get me wrong, the idea behind resolutions is fantastic, but maybe we are too specific and too hard on ourselves. Last year I was very specific with my goals and I only stuck to 3 of them fully. The goals helped me focus a little on the year and the ones I didn't stick to 100%, I was always aiming for them. However instead of setting myself up for failure, I have decided this year to be a bit broader in my goals.

Christmas Update: Less Than 2 Weeks!

So here it is, my updated Christmas Event Calendar/Tracker! I was doing so well last weeks until I went out for an impromptu meal and drinks on Thursday. I still tracked everything and at weigh in over the weekend was down another half a pound. I think if I hadn't gone out of dinner it may have been a little bit more but I am always happy to see the scale moving down!!

Christmas Countdown: 3 Weeks to Go!

So two weeks into my Christmas calendar and I started out so well. I lost 1.8lbs at weigh in last week which was my best loss in ages. Last weekend was my most manic weekend and I enjoyed my treats and was ready to jump back on the wagon on Monday morning. There was only one problem, I was sick. I had been starting to come down with something last Friday and then by the time Monday hit I was feeling miserable. I was kind of hoping it was just a hangover from the weekend of drinking but it kept getting worse as the days went on.
