So despite recovering well last week, I still had 3 full days off plan, so I knew I was going to be up last week. The question really was what sort of damage control had I managed. I was up half a pound which I will take and run. It could have been a lot worse, but there is a lot to be said for damage control. I also think I didn't fully deserve the 1lb gain I had the week before, but over the 2 weeks the gain makes sense.

Weekly Meal Plan & Weigh In: Jan Week 4
Despite all of my planning, last week was really difficult. I managed to find a weigh in on Wednesday and I gained 1lb. I'd be lying if I said I was happy about it, but I am also not too concerned about it. I was really all over the place last week, and while I was tracking and keeping on top of my food it can be hard to be 100% with weeks like that. I know if I had just forgotten about the plan and not been so conscious I could have easily gained 3 or 4lbs instead. I also didn't have time for much exercise, was hardly getting my 10,000 steps in never mind running.

Turkey Bolognese Pasta Bake
Pasta bake is one of my go to easy meals. It can be something that can be quickly prepared and left ready to be thrown in the oven for nights when you know you won't be able to face cooking. You can use whatever you have in the house at the time, add it to a basic tomato sauce and top with some cheese and you are good to go! The problem is, I'm usually terrible to not actually paying attention to what I'm putting in and then having no recipe to share at the end, or I can never recreate it just right again. So this year I am making a conscious effort to keep my recipe notebook beside me when I am cooking EVERYTHING and jot as I go. So hopefully this will help me increase the amount of recipes I have to post here!

Weekly Meal Plan & Weigh In: Jan Week 3
I feel like I am really back in the rhythm of healthy eating now again after Christmas. I am motivated and finding myself not really craving junk food. I am sure that won't last too long, but I am going to make the most of it while I can. After my first full week back on plan I lost 2lbs which means I still have 3.5lbs before I am back to my pre Christmas weight, but I made a pretty good start.

Weekly Meal Plan & Weigh In: January Week 2
Last week was judgement week for us all. That first weigh in for Christmas, for me it's rarely been good news (one year I had a STS miraculously). The thing is, even when we know bad news is coming, we need to go and face it. So I did, and I was up 5.5lbs. I had suspected it would be that much, but I was secretly hoping I was wrong. I had already done the really hard part, got myself back on track. I had been been back to tracking since the previous Monday so I just needed to keep it going. That 5.5lbs went on so easily and will be much tougher to shift but I am hoping that I will get a start on losing it this week.

First Meal Plan of 2017!!
Happy New Year everyone!! I would love to say that I woke up yesterday morning ready to face 2017 and get back on track - but I woke up a dying of flu with no energy. So my planned morning run turned into bacon & eggs for breakfast (and a jambon & sausage roll while I waited for breakfast to cook) followed by games night at my parents house with plenty of wine and food.
