After a slow start to the year, I am finally regaining ground on my running! I am only halfway through this week and I am already nearly at the same distance I was the past 2 weeks. I plan to double the distance by the end of the week. When I agreed to do the half marathon in a couple of weeks I was quite daunted, but which each run I get more and more confident and comfortable.
Always feel good after my runs! |
I realised that I had not only gotten lazy with the regularity of my running, I had also gotten lazy with my pacing. I hadn't been working toward a specific pace and found myself being ok with mediocre. My pace has not improved much since last year, so once this half marathon is over I am going to start focus on getting faster as well as keeping the regularity up.
Something else I have been working on is my meal planning. I lost it a bit for a week or two but I am back enjoying it again. I have been revisiting some recipes I posted this time last year, using the app timehop as a reminder (the beauty of posting most meals on instagram). So in the spirit of things my plan for this weeks dinners as follows:
- Monday: Garlic Chicken Curry with Brown Rice
- Tuesday: Baked Salmon with Vegetables
- Wednesday: Chipotle Pork with Chimichurri
- Thursday: Lemon Chicken Risotto
- Friday: Balsamic Glazed Pork with Hassleback Potatoes
- Saturday: Eating Out
- Sunday: Dinner at my parents
On top of this I have soup and slimsters in work, enough to last the week for lunches, and plenty of porridge for breakfast. I gained 1lb last week after my weekend away but I am hoping for a bit of a loss this week to even things out. I am tracking, planning, drinking water and running....so lets hope nothing can go wrong!
